Life Lately

Don't you love when you plan in advance and then the Lord says..."oh wait..umm no I have different plans!!!"  That happened to me on Tuesday!  I went for my first check up in the States and found out a lot of information!!!

Apparently I have a lot of fluid surrounding the baby.  They said my fluid levels should be at 15 but they are 30!  That is why I am HUGE!  Well part of the reason, but I will say that is why I am so large already!!!  (the good news is it is better to have too much fluid than not enough, if you are going to have a problem!)  There could be some concerns that CJ's Kidney's were not functioning properly because the fluid levels were so high.  After 2 ultrasounds they have found this is not the case.  Praise the Lord CJ looks very healthy!  Weighing in at 4.7 pounds!
They were noticing while I was getting my routine check up that I was having a lot of Braxton Hicks Contractions.  They decided to put me on the monitor and I was having contractions about 3 minutes apart.  I really did not notice anything different because that has been going on since about December.  I just thought that I was having more contractions because it was my second baby.  None of them hurt so I just ignored them and went on my way.
They also did not like the fact that I am already 3cm dilated.
So they stuck me in the hospital to try to slow down my contractions and keep an eye on sweet little CJ.    They were able to slow down my contractions and hopefully I will be able to carry this baby close to full term.  It makes me laugh, because no one really knows and I could be sitting here at 41 weeks still waiting to deliver or there is a chance that he could come in the next two weeks.... but we are hoping that he stays put as long as he can.  Even though he is a big boy I do not think he is ready to stop cooking!!!!

So now we just wait to see when he wants to make an appearance into this world!

Here are a couple of pictures of Jovee and I hanging out in the hospital!

  1. I had too much fluid with Elayna. It does make the contractions harder to detect in the beginning. Praying for you!
